THE SHEARING SEASON.

Sir,—Now that the shearing is about to commonce in and about the North Island, as a shearer I find it hard to get in touch with sheepmen wanting shearers. Jn Australia, the I'astoralists' Union has its officials in all the big cities where a shearer can engage for any number of sheds and the sheepmen in turn apply to the Shearers' Union for shearers and shed hands. There seems to be a great lack of any organisations in this country to deal with the supply of labour for this great industry and I understand that when the shearing is in full swing there is a shortage of shearers everywhere. Shearer.
