FORMATION OF 80C3AL CLUB. The need of a social club for mercantile marine officers in Auckland -was'discussed yesterday a£ a meeting in the Merchant Servico Guild rooms. Captain C. A preliminary committee was elected to prepare a report regarding the number of possible members, the amount of the subscription and also the choice of a club, room and cost of furnishing. Captain W. Ross was elected chairman of the committee and Captain West secretary. Other members elected were Cap- r tain T. Braidwcod, Captaia W. White, Captain M. Pierotti, Captain J. H. Carter and Mr. C. P. Gavegan., Mr. A. Moody and Mr. C; H. I). Palmer were elected advisory, members. The report, will be discussed at a meeting next Friday afternoon,- ■■ .
