RADIO ENTERTAINMENT.
TO-NIGHT'S PROGRAMMES: The Auckland Radio Broadcasting Station, IYA, (wave length 420 metres, will commence its week's programme to-day. % The following entertainment has been arranged:—3 p.m. to 4.30 p.m., instrumental session; 6.30 p.m. to 7 p.m., children's session; 7.15 p.m. to 7.45 p.m., information service; 8 p.m. to 10 p.m., concert. The concert programme is: Miss Ida Holmes, soprano, in the songs "May Morning" (Denza), "Lullaby" (Brahms). "Poor Wandering One" (Sullivan}: Misr. Jessie Smith, contralto, "Cradle Me Low" (Phillips), "The Harvester's Night Song" (Richardson), "The Ballad" (King); Mr, Dickson, baritone, "Bedouin Love Song." "Oberon in Fairyland" (Slater), "Mandalav" (Willebyj: Mr. T. H. Jones, violin selections; Mr. Zimmer, cornet solo selections; item by Saxophone Four; Griffiths Duo in humour.
The Sydney station. 2FC, Farmers' Broadcasting Service (wave length 1100 metres) can be picked up in Auckland any time after 7.30 p.m. The programme to be broadcast this evening will include talks to children; operatic orchestra under the baton of Mr. Stanley Porter; relay from Welsh Choral Society's concert; items by the dance orchestra playing at the annual Loyal Orange ball: and a relay from jazz music played by Mr. Henry Santrey'g Band.
