TAKAPUNA JOCKEY CLUB.

SEASON'S PROGRAMMES. The committee of tho Takapuna Jockey Club has adopted the programmes framed in connection with the two meetings to be held at the North Shore during the season just entered upon. The total sum allotted in prize money amounts to £14,025—£6650 being apportioned to the spring meeting and £7375 to the summer meeting. Compared with previous years, several alterations have been made in the programmes, and in conforming to the direction issued to withdraw hurdle races, flat events are now inserted in place of jumping races. In the spring programme the Tiri High-weight Handicap (1 mile 3 fur.) takea the place of the Ponui Hurdles and in place of the Tiri Open Hurdles the Ponui Handicap (1 milo nnd a furlong) is inserted. The Kawau High-weight Handicap (1 mile and 3 iurlnngp) will take the place of the Kawau Hurdle Race, ond tho Stanley Handicap (7 furlongs) v.-ill replace the Stanley Hurdles. In the summer programme the Hanraki Hurdles gives place to the Orswa Highweight Handicap (1 mile 3 furlongs) and •'.he Haurnki Hack Handicap (1 mile and a furlona) takes the nlaro of the Orewa Hurdlpa, the Woiwera High-weight Handicap (1 mile and 3 furlongs* re-olaee* the Takapuna Hurdles, and the Bevonport Handicap (7 furlongs) takes the place of the Waiwers Hurdles. The four leading events at the spring meeting are as follow-Alison Cup of £BOO. Cheltenham Handicap of £SOO. St. Andrew's Handicap of £7CO and Ngatarintra Handicap of £450. At thejmmmer meeting the leading' events are Takapuna cup of £I4OO (including gold c"P of J100). Stewards' Handicap of £550, T.J.O. Handicap of £BOO and Anniversary Handicap of £450. In tho fsprins? programme tho Melrose Handicap is now altered to the Melrose Maiden Stakes, which is to be confined to horses that have not won a race of r>ny description at the timo of starting. The face ia to be run over 7 furlongs nl the (stipulated weight of 8.0 Tho Trial Stakes, which is the opening event at the summer meeting, will be run on eimilar lines.
