MOUNT ROSKILL AFFAIRS.
EXTENSIVE CONCRETE WORK; ; ESTIMATES TO BE PREPARED. The Mount .Roskill Road Board-met : last evening, the chairman, Mr. J.' J. Preston, presiding. It was decided to' consider at, next meeting . a proposal ■by Mr. A. S. Belcher: That the engineer be asked to .prepare* .plans and estimates, for , paving j# con-' crete, (1) Three Kings Road, (2) Mount Albert Road in two' sections,, namely (a) Royal Oak to Rugby Road, (b) Rugby Road to the Mount Albert borough boundary, (3) Pah Road, and (4) for paving in bituminous surface Buckland Road;; and that the board submit the proposals in one poll at the same time as the election of members is held next May. He proposed that the expenditure should be spread over a period of years with a minimum of six, not more than one road to bn undertaken in any one year. The Mount Roskill Fire Board asked the board to take steps to form a volunteer fire brigade for the unexpired term of the year, to June 30, 1927, and to equip, the brigade with a I'eel and hose, which the Fire Board could afterwards take over. The clerk will ascertain from the Minister, of Internal Affairs the time and conditions of the new board functioning. The building inspector stated that permits have been issued for nine dwellings, to a'total value of £B34f. There were 40 dwellings in course of'erection. , The engineer reported that the Avondale ' viator supply had been connected with the mains 'last Thursday, with a consequent increase of pressure over the district served.
