AEROPLANE CRASHES.
A BRITISH PILOT KILLED. HEAVY TOLL FOR ' THE YEAR. Australian anil NIZ. Cable Association. (Eecd. 7.5 p.m.) . LONDON. Aug. 19, A Royal Air Force 'single-seater aeroplane was making a test trip when it nose dived from 6000 ft. near Gloucester. The pilot. made desperate efforts ■to free himself with a parachute 1 but they were futile and he was killed. • This is the twenty-second fatality in the Air Force this year. The accidents have involved 52 deaths.
