SCIENTIST'S PROPHECY.
SECRETS OF AFTER-LIFE, DISCOVERY IMMINENT. A. and N.Z. LONDON, Aug. 9. A bold prophecy was made by the wellknown scientist, Sir Oliver Lodge, in the course of an address he delivered in the Manchester College Cbapel, Oxford. Sir Oliver said, scientists were on the verge of discovering the secret of life, and answers to the questions: "What is God?" and "Is Death the End of Man?" He predicted that - before the British Association raeetsi at Oxford again these answers will have been supplied and the universe will hnve been revolutionised ouce more beyond all previous scope. "Whereas throughout the 19th century and up to the present we have dealt chiefly with material works," said Sir Oliver, "there now lies before us the discovery of the spiritual world. This has not yet been accepted by science, but there are indications that the questions concerning it. will shortly be answered."
