HURT AT EXHIBITION.
' c, MISHAP IN FUN FACTORY. PATRON AWARDED DAMAGES. [BY telegraph.—l'RESS association.] DUNEDIN, Tusisday, Judgment was given in the Magintrate's Court to-day in the case brought by George . Sidford, accountant, .Wellington, against the Exhibition Company. The claim was for £2OO for injuries sustained while using the slide in the "Fun Factory." Plaintiff sustained a fractured leg and a sprained ankle. The magistrate held that the defendants showed lack of due care and were negligent in the construction and operation of the device. The construction of the slide was such that persons were projected with considerable velocity on to a canvas mattress, with a drop that varied at; times from 6in. to 13in., and this drop created a danger of sliders' legs being doubled beneath them. Judgment was for plaintiff for tfle full amount claimed. Security for appeal was fixed.
