INDUSTRIAL ASSOCIATION.
THE QUESTION OF TARIFFS, The Auckland Provincial Industrial Association met yesterday, Mr. H. Dearsley presiding. The Coach and Motor-body Builders' Association advised that a committee had been set up by the Industrial Association to further its efforts to have the motorbody building industry receive further protection. The Auckland Fruitgrowers' Association wrote thanking the association for Us support in urging that the lemongrowing industry should be protected and stating that it had received favourable consideration from the Minister of Agriculture. In connection with the proposed tariff revision the president reported that the Minister of Industries and Commerce had been interviewed by delegates from the industrial associations. He had stated that a general revision of tariff was not possible this session but that several of the most urgent matters were being considered by the Parliamentary Industries and Commerce Committee. It was resolved to allocate the sum of £SOO, for propaganda expenditure during the year, to include the post office date stamp advertisement and the £l5O authorised for the New Zealand Industries Week. A request was receive'd from the Royal Show Committee that New Zealand Industries Week should be held on the show dates, November 15, 17 and 18. It was decided to meet the show committee on the matter. A committee consisting of Messrs. C. A. Whitney, L. JToil and B. Buttle was set up to represent the association in con- - ' nection with the acquiring of new premises for the Auckland Winter Exhibition.
