ITALIAN FARMERS.

TROUBLE IN QUEENSLAND. BOYCOTT BY SUGAR-WORKERS. A. and N.Z. BRISBANE. July 30. A deadlock has arisen at the sugar mill at Mackay, Queensland. This is due to the refusal of the mill workers to handle sugar cane which was grown on land farmed by Southern Europeans. At a largely-attended meeting of Italian sugar-cane farmers a resolution was carried protesting against discrimination being exercised against Italians who had fought side by side with Australians in the war. It was decided that this resolution should be conveyed to the Governments of the Commonwealth and Queensland and to the Italian Consul-General. It was also decided to cable to the. Prime Ministers of Britain and Italy, Mr. Stanley Baldwin and Signor Mussolini, soliciting their support in the matter.
