BAGDAD, July 27 A tragic aeroplane smash occurred at Hinaidi, near Bagdad. Seven persons were killed and one other was seriously injured.. The machine was a Vickers-Vernon troop-carrying aeroplane. It crashed upon the roof of the aerodrome at Hinaidi, near Bagdad. This is the 25th crash this year and is the worst aeroplane accident since the war, except that which occurred at Croydon, England, on Christmas Eve, 1924. On that occasion eight deaths resulted.

THE SEVENTH VICTIM. WORKER IN THE SHED. CAUSE OF DISASTER NOT KNOWN. (Received 11.55 p.m.) Sun. LONDON, July 27. The Daily News says inquiries show that British and Russian diplomatic circles decline to confirm or deny the report from Bagdad that the destroyed biplane was a large carrier and accommodated 12 passengers and two pilots. The seventh victim of the accident was working in u shed and was crushed by the falling machine. The cause of the disaster is not known.
