THE WAITAKERE RANGES.

Sir, —I have noticed of late several letters relative to the distances from the various railway stations on the Kaipara line to the Waitakere Ranges. The new Oratia railway station opened about 20 months ago is built on the nearest possible railway point to Waiatoroa, on the top of the ranges, a distance of six miles by metal road all the way. From Glen Eden to Waiatoroa is seven and a-h'alt" miles, from Henderson, via Forest Hill Road—a summer road—about seven and a-half miles. Range Lover.
