Several inter-club bowling matches were played on Saturday afternoon, the weather being an improvement on that of previous week-ends, although the vagaries of o gusty wind made play difficult at times. EDWIN STARS CONTEST,

TROPHY CHANGES HANDS.

A Remuera team comprising N. P. Wyatt. Coe, Newton and Russell, scored a rotable win in the Edwin Stars match against the holders, H. P. Wyatt, Johnston, Whittle and Parker, of the Auckland Club, a', tue Devonport green on Saturday afternoon Far the first few heads the holders held a slight lead but thereafter Remuera set led heavily and won by 23 to 9. Auckland had been in possession of the trophy for several .weeks. -

THE BUCKLAND CLUB. [by telegraph.—own CORRESPONDENT. 3 PUKEKOHE. Saturday! The annual meeting of the Buckland Bowling Club was held in the Buckland Hall last evening, the president, Mr. E. Allan, presiding over an attendance of about 20 members. The executive's report, submitted by the secretary, Mr. G. Mcpherson, stated that the past season had proved very successful. The green had been in excellent order and the suroundings had been further ornamented with shrubs, flowers, etc. With further treatment this season the green should be second to none in the Dominion The club won the season's competition for the Buckland-Tuakau Challenge Cup. and registered a good percentage of wins m other inter-club play. The membershio had increased to 34. The financial position wan very sound, the overdraft having been reduced from £7B to £42, and the club's asset.? represented a value of £458. A donation of £2O the croquet club aud donations in materials, labour and money from the bowlers were mainly responsible for the overdraft reduction. Officers for the ensuing season were elected as follows:—President, Mr. Allan: vicepresidents, Messrs. R King and H. Bullock: secretary. Mr. J. Danes; treasurer. Mr. A. Bilkey; green superintendent. Mr, R. Wright; committeemen. Messrs. C. Butcher, W. Biikey. H. H. D. Wily and A. Steele; delegates to Northern Waikato Bowling Association. Messrs. King and R. Fulton; match committee, Messrs.
