FOURTH MATCH TO-DAY/
AUSTRALIANS' AVERAGES. FOUR PASS THOUSAND RUNS. The fourth test match between England and Australia will commence at Manchester to-day. Of the previous tests the first was abandoned, and the second and third were drawn. Thus a decisive result has yet to be reached between the two teams. Four of the Australians—Bardsley, Macartney, Woodfull and Andrews —have passed 1000 runs for the tour. Hendry is at the 'top of the batting averages, he played only two games before becoming ill. Macartney shows what a great allrounder he is by being virtually top of the batting averages and actually top of the bowling averages. Twenty-two individual centuries have been made by the Australians, Macartney and Woodfull contributing five each, Bardsley four, Gregory, Ponsford and Ryder two each, and Andrews and Richardson one each.
