TO-DAY'S WEATHER. HERALD'S SPECIAL FORECAST. The following weather forecast for 24 hours, from 7 a.m. to-day, was supplied to us by Mr. H. M. Vincent last evening :—Fair to cloudy weather in indicated, followed by a change in conditions shortly, with rain over most of the Dominion. Winds variable, northerly to north-easterly winds, moderate to strong, prevailing shortly and freshening. Seas rough. Barometer, midnight, 29.65 in., falling. GOVERNMENT REPORT. The Government meteorologist reported last evening as follows: —Present indications are for variable and strong winds, south-easterlies, veering to westerlies northward of Farewell Spit and Kaikoura; increasing northerlies to westerlies ruling elsewhere- shortly; weather changeable and showery, especially in the northern and east coast districts. Barometer unsteady, rising soon in the north, but falling in the south.
