BUSINESS INTERESTS.
LUNCHEON AT NEWMARKET.
To stimulate interest in its objects the Newmarket Business Promotion Societyyesterday held a luncheon at the Orient Tearooms, the attendance being much greater than the organisers expected. Mr. A. Kent presided, and among the guests were Mr. M. J. Bennett, president of the Karangahape Road Business Promotion Society, and other members of that' society., Mr. Bennstt gave an address on the advantages of organisation, instancing the achievements of the Karangahape Road business men. He emphasised the value of the fortnightly luncheons and said he hoped similar functions would be introduced at Newmarket, so that the business interests would be better protected and business men brought closer together.
