THE NECK FLOWER.
Nestling between the wearer's left ear and cheek, the neck flower is among the latest whims of fashion. It is sometimes attached to an almost invisible neck band, but more frequently is seen in connection with the scarf, which nearly every woman now twists round her neck in the evening. ■ It began by an Eton-cropped girl wearing a vivid figured silk scarf twisted tightly round her neck, above a daringly plain, low-cut and sleeveless black satin dress. Now every woman wears a scarf, for effect, not from reasons of commonsense or with any idea of avoiding spring colds. The last word in fashion is the .scarf of folded chiffon, put as tightly round tho neck as tho old-fashioned "bicycling woman's" stiff collar, and finished with a big chrysanlhemum-Jike flower at the left side and widely flowing ends. That is the neck • flower, so far as fashion has taken it, but the dress experts threaten that it will become a far, far more important thing as the season advances.
