AUCKLAND STOCK EXCHANGE.
YESTERDAY'S TRANSACTIONS.
Average business was done on the Auckland sharemarket yesterday. In Government Securities there vvas sale In Inscribed Stock, 1939, per cent., at £96 15s. More-were wanted at £96 10s, sellers £97. There was fair inquiry for the other securities, but no business was transacted. In commercial debentures New Zealand Breweries were available at 26s 3d. There was a demand for Milne and Choyce at £96, an improvement of 10s since Saturday, but there was no response. ( In banks Nationals of New Zealand had sale at £6 16s and New Zealands at 62s 3d. There was little change in the rates for other bank shares. In insurance New Zealands sold at 435, more being wanted at 42s 6d, sellers easing from 43s 6d to 43s 3d. Closing offers for South British were slightly easier at 60s 3d, sellers being unchanged at 61s 6d. Nationals were available at 83s 6d. In coal there was sale of Westports at 365. In gas Aucklands, ordinary, w T ere done at 23s lOd, the same figure as on Saturday, closing rates being unchanged. The contributing issue sold at 12s, at which price the demand was firm, sellers 12s 2d. There were no sales in the miscellaneous section. In mining there was a sharp fall in Alburnias, the market opening at 4s 6d and 4s, and closing at 3s lOd and 3s 9d. Sales were made at the third call at 4s, 3s lid and 3s lOd. Kawaraus changed hands at 7s Id and 7s, and New Waiotahi, contributing, at Is 3d.
