MINE MANAGERS' REPORTS.
Lucky Shot.— Driving north-east the Reuben Parr reef has been advanced 12ft., making a total distance of 33ft. driven in this direction. The reef its width, of 3ft.. and is carrying good Mineral indications. Work in the south-west face has been temporarily stooped. The drive on the-, footwall leader has been cleaned right up to the face and the men started yesterday to drive on the leader to get the junction oi tlie cross reef.
Golden Age.—Operations were commenced on June 30 by cleaning out tlie Gladstone level, The mouth of the drive had fallen in. This has been picked and the level cleaned up for a distance of 300 ft. This level brings us under the Pinafore blow. This hill is a mass of leefs. and by driving east we should rea'ch the junction of the Waiotahi-Cambria and Golden Ago reef. The Waiotahi-Cambria reef in the level is 20ft. wide and is encased m a splendid class of country. Tiki Talisman.—Since my last report we have met with the junction of the leader with the main reef, the leader proving to be some eight or nine inches. It is intersected by very kndly-lookmg quarts carrying a considerable* quantity of mineral. Moanataiari.— During the week the east crosscut has been advanced 7ft.. a total of 262 ft is a change of country coming in from the floor of the drive_. On the Caledonia reef the drive from the top of the rise has been driven about 24ft. New Waiotahi.—The drive hillward on the Waiotahi-Cambria reef has been advanced 10ft. for the week, a total distance from the crosscut of 116 ft. 'The portion of the reef being followed has widened to nearly the full width of the drive, and is carrying streaks and bunches of cinnibar along with silver sulphides, and iron pv rites The country rock continues to be a mild blueish andeaite with dark mineral bands The winze between the main reef and the footwal] leader has been sunk sft., and is now down to a dpth of lift. It is proposed to sink 25ft.. then open out and drive about loft, to get under the point where gold was got in the leader in The footwal! portion of the Orlando reef in the Norwegian level has been driven on for a further 17ft. This ore body is now making in size and shows a width of 15in. It is much more defined than it has been for the past ?sft. The country rock carries' a fair amount of mineral seams.
