The Union Company's collier Kaikorai left for Newcastle on Saturday evening to load for New Zealand. The Ivurow left Picton at 2.30 on Saturday afternoon for Auckland and is dua tomorrow morning. "She will berth at Central Wharf. The Wainui arrived from East Coast yesterday and berthe.' at Queen's Wharf. She is to leave for Tokomaru Bay, Gisborne and Napier at 5 o'clock to-morrow evening. The Gisborne Sheepfarmers' steamer Tiroa, which arrived from the East Coast on Friday night, is to sail on the return this afternoon. THE MAIMOA. The Shaw, Savill and Albion liner Maimoa. Captain J. H. Gaskill, arrived from London, via Suva, on Saturday morning, and berthed at Prince's Wharf to discharge to the local agency of A. S. Paterson and Co., Ltd. The Maimoa left London on June 1 and after a good run across the Atlantic, arrived at Co.on on June 15 and cleared Panama two days later, after bunkering. Almost perfect weather conditions were experienced to Suva, whica was reached on July 8. The vessel dip,charged 1100 tons of cargo there, but owing to heavy rains was delayed until la3t Tuesday, when the voyage was continued. The fine weather enabled the ship to put up some good performances and she logged 350 miles on one day in the Pacific. Eleven thousand tons of cargo were loaded at London, of which 5000 are for Auckland, and the remainder for Wellington. Captain Gaskill has with him the following officers:—Chief officer, Mr. R. G. MAHENO FROM SYDNEY. The Maheno is due from Sydney to-morrow morning and will berth at Queen'B Wharf, bhe has passengers, cargo and 502 bags of mail from Australia and the Far East. THE TAHITI. The Union Company has received advice that the Royal Mail liner Tahiti left San c rancisco last Wednesday for Wellington, via Papeete and liarotonga. She is due on August 2. TOFUA SAILED. Tho Union Company's island steamer Tofua left (or Fiji, Tonga and Samoa shortly after 11 o'clock on Saturday- morning. Besides 112 passengers she took mails and cargo. She is due at Suva on Wednesday. \ THE WINGATUI. The Wingatui arrived from Southern ports on i Saturday afternoon and berthed at Prince's Wharf. After discharge she is to proceed to Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, Bluff, Oamaru and Timaru to load back for Auckland. WAITOMO AT NEWCASTLE. A cable message from Newcastle states the Union Company's collier Waitomo arrived on Saturday from Auckland. The vessel apparently struck bad weather as she left here on July 7 and was 10 days on the voyage. GISLA FROM NAURU. Tho Norwegian motor-ship Gißla, which left Nauru Island on July 9 with 6200 tons of phosphate for Auckland, is expected some time to-morrow. She will berth at King's Wharf and will unload to the agency of Messrs. Henderson and Macfarlane. THE TONGARIRO. The New Zealand Shipping Company's steamer Tongariro arrived from London at 9 o'clock yesterday morning and anchored at the powder grounds off Motuihi Island to discharge explosives. She will berth at Prince's Wharf on completion to put out general cargo.

TAINUI REACHES WELLINGTON. An arrival at Wellington on Saturday was the Shaw. Savill liner Tainui, with passengers, mails and general cargo from London and Southampton. Auckland passengers arrived by train yesterday morning and luggage is being shipped on the Katoa on Thursday. The vessel will unload at South Island ports.

AORANGI IN PORT., The Royal Mail liner Aorangi arrived from Vancouver, via Honolulu and Suva early yesterday afternoon, and berthed at Prince's Wharf to land 168 passengers, besides a large amount of mail matter. The Aorangi has 197 through passengers and on continuing her voyage to Sydney at 3 o'clock this afternoon will also take passengers from Auckland. The trip across the Pacific was made in ideal weather, and deck games were indulged in daily.

RICHARDSON STEAMERS. Messrs. Watkin and Wallis advise that the Awahou is due from Portland this evening and will leave to-morrow evening for Tokomaru Bay, Tolaga Bay and Gisborne. Mako is expected to rinish overhaul at the end of the %veek, when she will sail for East Coaßt bays and Napier. The Putiki will return from Napier at the end of this week and will load for East Coast bays.

The Northern Wairoa Steamship Company's steamer Kurnalpi, of 495 tons, had a particularly severe buffeting on her trip from Auckland td Wellington and did not reach Wellington until Saturday morning, having taken eight days to cover a distance which nominally would have occupied about three. She cleared on July 9 and ran into the recent cyclonic storm shortly after leaving. Two days later she was hove-to in the Bay of Plenty in mountainous seas, and until Thursday was badly buffeted and made _ practically, no progress. The vessel has timber to discharge in tho South and will later return to Auckland.

MINE-SWEEPER FOR AUCKLAND. An adventurous voyago from Portland, England, to Auckland, was commenced on June 15 by H.M.S. Wakakura, the small mine-Bweeper. which was launched last March as an addition to the New Zealand Naval Division. The first port of call will be Cape Verde, on the west coast of Africa, thence Trinidad, Colon, Salina Cruz, San Diego on the Californian coast, Honolulu, Pago Pago. E'iii and Auckland. Lieutenant R. A. Macdonald, R.N., is in command and it is hoped to reach Auckland on October 25. The crew number 25.

KAURI WITH WHEAT. Heavily laden with wheat the Union Company's steamer Kauri, Captain J. Mac Lean, arrived from Geelong early yesterday morning and berthed at Queen's Wharf. The vessel experinced an uneventful trip of eight days, fortunately missing the cyclonic disturbance of last week. Departure was taken from Geelong on Friday, July 9. Strong northerly winds were experienced the first day out, after which conditions remained threatening, and the wind moved all round the compass. Heavy thunderstorms were then experienced and on the fourth day out the ship ran into a heavy swell, which was on the outskirts of the cyclone area. Fair westerly winds were encountered for the remainder of the voyage. Captain Mac Lean has with him the following officers:—Chief officer, Mr. J. Warwick; second, Mr. F. Young; third, Mr. D. Burgess; chief engineer, Mr. W. Houghton; second, Mr. W. Falconer; third, Mr. A. Fell; fourth. Mr. C. Murphy; wireless operator, Mr. D. Heather. Mr. Warwick left for Wellington last evening for orders.
