ROTARY AND PROPAGANDA.
Sir,—lt is unbelievable that Britain has yielded to pressure from the Rotary Club to refrain from advocating,, per medium of stamped correspondence, the purchase of British goods. With due respect to the explanation from the president of the locai .Rotary Club one is unable to overlook the fact that the International Headquarters of Rotary is in America. It is, therefore, reasonable to surmise that what has rightly been taken exception to originally emanated from the headquarters of this organisation. Britain has quite sufficient pernicious internal influences to combat in striving to re-establish her trade lost while ergaged in the fight for humanity, so isn't it just about time wo realised how essential it is to utilise every possible channel whereby trade can be re-established, and also adjust onr tariff accordingly? Sir James Parr struck the right key in his speech as principal guest at a luncheon given by the Empire Produced' Association in London when he openly denounced the fact that England was pouring millions of pounds into the laps of foreigners when it ought to provide work for British unemployed in producing British goods. Even though we are indebted to America it does not follow, that we are to be subservient to interference from what is purely an American organisation, born in the land of the almighty dollar, and it is to be hoped that? in the event of similar overtures being made' in this Dominion, the same will bo treated n a fitting manner. Ihojcas A. PEASEB.
