FORTY YEARS' SERVICE,, A public farewell was tendered at Northcote last evening to Miss C, J. Flats, who this week severed her connection with the Education Board after having served nearly 40 years in tho teaching profession. Tho Masonic Hall was filled. ■ . The Mayor, Mr. C. A. Deuxberry, who presided, referred to the high esteem in which Miss Flatt is held by the residents and on their behalf he handed her a beautiful eiderdown quilt and a toilettable set. Eulogistic references to Miss Flatt's work as-infant mistress at the Northco'to school were made by Mr. W. J.... Wernhani, headmaster, and Mr. H. S. Gribben, chairman of tho school committee.
