ELECTRIC POWER SUPPLY. AVAILABLE BY NEXT OCTOBER. An assurance that unless anything unforeseen happened, the Government work in connection with the supply of electricity to -the, W a item ata Power district would be ready by October was given yesterday by the Prime' Minister. Mr. Coates, to a deputation from-the board at' Hfelensville. Mr* Coates said this elate was in accordance with "the latest information at his disposal. The' whole of the northern area in the' power district would be reticulated by " that time. The Prime Minister advised the HelensUrille Domain Boar/J that it was intended to jifaco £750 on the estimates this year for improvements to the health .resort." Of the total, £3OO would be . for lighting, £3OO for improved, sanitary conveniences and £159 for the extension of the main drive. • A request that a wig-wag danger signal should be erected at the Huapai railway crossing on the Main North J load was made to the Prime Minister by the Huapai Association. Mr. Coates gave the request a favourable hearing, but ad,vised the deputation that .there was not the slightest, chance of a similar request with regard .to a crossing on the Matua Jioad.being acceded to. Mr. Coates also advised the settlers that there would be a better chance of an improvement in their postal service being made if the districts of Huapai and Kumeu could agree on the establishment of a central post office to serve the two localities.
