FORTY YEARS' SERVICE.

LADY TEACHER RETIRES. Miss C. J. Flail, infant mistress at North cote School for the past 12 years, yesterday retired on superannuation after almost forty years' continuous service in the teaching profession under the Auckland Education Board. Before going to Northeote Miss Flatt was for over 27 years stationed in country districts. She took a keen interest in the Women's Teachers' Association, of which she was honorary secretary for the past five years. A public farewell is to be tendered her by the residents of Northcote and Birkenhead at the Junior High School on Thursday evening.
