BALMORAL ROAD.

Sir, —It has often been said that Mount Eden possesses roads equal to the best around Auckland, and the ratepayers are very proud of this truth. Why : then should our worthy councillors allow this good reputation to be lost through the disgraceful state of one of our main'highways? There are parts of Balmoral Road that are absolutely unsafe for motor traffic. I refer to the section, .between Bank Street and Tui Street, and also a part leading on to Edendale Road. Motorists will be well advised to give this very convenient route a wide berth till such time as our council officers have finished polishing up the blind alleys and scarcelyused by-ways to turn their efforts to something worth while. A.G.J.
