ORPHANS' CLUBS.
PAPAKURA AND CAMBRIDGE. The first annual meeting of the Papakura Orphans' Club was held last evening, the president, Rev. W. C. Wood, presiding. There was a fair attendance. The report and balance-sheet showed the club to be in a sound condition. Officers were elected as follow:—President, Rev. W. C. Wood; vice-presidents. Dr. Page, Messrs. S. D. Rice, E. C. Beachey, W. K. Francis and W. Milne; secretary, Mr. T. C. Seaton; treasurer, Mr. G. C. iiobsoß; musical director, Mr. T. Walker; committee, Messrs. H. E, McEntee, J. F. Johnston and 11. Markwick. The balance-sheet presented at Ihe annual meeting of the Cambridge Orphans' Club show'ed a credit of £6 10s Id. Assets were stated to exceed liabilities by £34 15s 3d.' Officers were elected as follow:—Patron, Mr. D. Stewart Reid, M.P.; president, Mr. F. Lye; vice-president, Dr. Staplev. Messrs. Geo. Calvert, S. Lewis, W. Wilkinson and T. F. Richards; committee, Messrs. W. Muller, W. White, C. Waghorne, H. Ferguson, P. Crowther, T. H. Hampshire, C. W. Clark, M. Wilkinson arid F. Ferguson;* 1 chief steward, Mr. W. Muller; secretary and treasurer, Mr. A. Curtain.
