MAUMGAKIEKIE LADIES' CLUB The first round of the president's handicap, match play, which was to have been played by members of the Maunsakiekio Ladies' Gqlf Club on * the One Tree Hill links yesterday, was postponed on account of tho bad weather. The round will now bo played before next Wednesday, and the second round on Wednesday. Following in the draw for the first round:—-Miss Ponsford v. Mrs. Banister, Mrs. Reid v. Miss McCnbe. Mrs. Howard v. Mrs. White. Miss G. Eas ton v. Miss Churion. Miss Haslett v. M'r» Petre, Mrs. Horton v. Mrs, Lovett, Mr» Dufaur v. Miss Preece, Mrs. Taylor v. Mr* Gibson, The C grade match will be arranged at the clubhouse on Friday morning. TAURANGA COURSE. PROPOSALS FOR EXTENSION. [BY TEI.EGRAFH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] TAURANGA, Wednesday. Mr. H. B. Ltisk, of Auckland, has spent several days at the Gate Pa golf links arranging an extension to tho present ninehole course. 110 hns formulated a scheme for an 18-hple course of 5000 yds. which could be easily extended if required. Three ..of the proposed holes could be brought into uso almost immediately without necessitalincr any large expenditure. Tho question of planting trees was also gone into and Mr. Luslc has promised to submit a report to the committee.
