EFFECTIVE ORGANISATION.
Sir,—l was pleased to "notice in "Kotare's" excellent article 'in Saturday's supplement a share of praise given to the teachers of our schools for. the excellent manner in which the recent children's sports were conducted in the Domain. It was indeed a triumph for organisation and discipline, and one had only , to see the happy faces of the youngsters .and .their , ready-response to their teachers' smallest wishes to- be assured that most cordial relations exist between teacher and taught. .More recently we had a visit from a large number of country children, and here again was. given another illustration of what effective organisation will "do. I • consider .it a distinct loss •to the community that our teachers cannot be persuaded to take a more active interest in' public affairs outside of school life, as. their exceptional powers of organisation and control would be -of great service to any body which secured their co-operation. Probably the teachers' time is much more fully occupied than'the general public ' thinks, but given a little encouragement they would ho able to assist many bodies who would . .gladly, avail themselves of the teachers' services.. ...Efficiency.
