HOPE LEWIS CUP MATCH. RESULT OF FIRST ROUND. Tho first round of the Hope Lewis Cup match was played by members of the Auckland Ladies' Golf Club yesterday. Results are as follow : Mrs. Mucdonald defeated Mrs. B lieGovern, 1 up; Mrs. K. Towle defeated Mrs. Wright, 7 and 6; Miss Upton defeated Miss J. Reid, 3 and 1; Miss Alacfarliine deleuted Mrs. Smith, 5 and 4: Miss Frater defeated MJss Kent, 3 and 1; Miss dock defeated Mrs. Hodges, 5 and 3; Miss Coutts defeated Mrs. Abbott, 3 and 2; Miss Kiithbone defeated Miss T. Post entries will be received, players to choose their partners. MAUXGAKIEKIE LADIES' CLUB. The Maungakiekie Ladies' Golf .Club s season was opened at. tho Titirangi links yesterday. A ladies' foursome was played in the morning and driving, approaching and putting, and continuous putting coinI petitions were held during the utternoon. Results were as follow: Foursome. Mrs. Banister and Miss Cook, P up. The next best card was Mrs. tinlay and Mrs. Taylor, 2 down. Driving, Mrs. Dufaur, Approaching and putting. Miss Deighton. Putting, Miss I'nyton. The Papakura and Waiuku Clubs both held their official openings for the season on Saturday, and in each instance thero was a good attendance of members and visitors. At Papakura. Mr. E. D. McLennan, M.P., declared the links open for play, and wished the club a successful season. He promised tho vise of a further portion of (lis property for the improvement of the course. A mixed foursomes match was played over 12 holes and was won by Miss Percy and Mr. White. At Waiuku. tho club captain, Mr. Forbes, declared the links open. Mixed foursomes were then played over nine holes. The course and greens proved in first-class order.. Mrs. Forbes and Dr. McSweeney returned the best card. 43. IS—3O. FOR BRONCHITIS.
