STORING OF BUTTER.
EFFECT ON THE MARKET. TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] HAMILTON, Thursday. A statement that there was nothing in the contention that the storing of New Zealand butter in London had caused Denmark to secure a higher premium than usual, was made l>y Mr. W. Goodfellow, managing-director of the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Co., Ltd. Mr. Goodfellow pointed out that on April 10 his company's Anchor butter Was quoted on the London market at 1765, while the Danish price was 174s f.0.b., the Australian price 1725, and Argentine 150s to 160s. The complaints that had been made, said Mr. Goodfellow, arose from the fact that New Zealand dairy companies were now holding their own supplies of butter in London, whereas in the past they were invariably held and controlled by speculators.
