CROQUET SUCCESSES.

ONEHUNGA ENTERTAINMENT. The members of the Onehunga Croquet Club, who participated in the matches resulting in the A grade inter-club banner going to the club for the sixth year in succession, were entertained by their fellow-members on Tuesday afternoon. The six banners were a prominent feature in the afternoon's celebrations. A progressive tournament was arranged for the banner winners, the prizes, which were presented by Mrs. Jones, being won by Mesdames Kenny, Wallace, Brown, Harvey and Evitt. A very dainty afternoon tea was served, the tables being tastefully decorated by Mrs. George Court--In her capacity as president of the club, Mrs. Kenny congratulated tlie competitors on their remarkable success during the' past season and thanked the other members of the club for so handsomely entertaining them. Shortly after resuming play the ladies received a surprise visit from the bowlers from the adjoining green, who wished to add their congratulations to the croquet club. Mr. W. N. Mcintosh acted as spokesman and said the bowlers were justly proud of their ladies. In fact, they were more delighted than if they had won a tournament themselves. At his call j hearty cheers were given for the ladies.
