DAIRY CONTROL BOARD.
SYSTEM OF ELECTION. SOUTH AUCKLAND OPINION. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] HAMILTON. Wednesday. Opposition to the present system under which members of the. Dairy Control Board are olected was expressed at a conference of small co-operative dairy companies operating in South Auckland. Cambridge, Morrinsville, Hinuora, Te Poi, Tokoroa, To Awamutu, " Piopio, Kaitieke and East Tamaki wore represented. The following resolution was carried: — " That this conferenco is in favour of the single ward system of electing members of the Dairy Produce Control Board, with the vot'iirt to bo exercised by the individual producers." The chauiuah oi the Kaitieko Company stated that lie was not empowered to vote for or against tho resolution at this stage. Two other companies, Kawhia and Kakepuku, wrote stating that they were strongly m favour of tho single ward system. The conference ulso passed the following resolution unanimously:—"That tho Minister of Agriculture be asked whether his instructions to tho Control Board were such as to cause the board to cancel its first circular and cause the board to appoint a chairman of the conference and decide upon the basis of voting at. the conference." Tho conference instructed Messrs. J. Sinclair and F. W. Seifert to draw up a scheme for a federation of small co-opera-tive dairy companies operating in South Auckland.
