PROGRESS AT PUKEKOHE.
YEAR'S RAILWAY BUSINESS. A SUBSTANTIAL INCREASE. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWS . CORRESPONDENT. ] PUKEKOHE. "Wednesday. The Pnkekohe Chamber of Commerce met last evening, the president, Mr. H. H. Pattle, in the chair. A comparative return ot the railway traffic inwards and outwards at the Pukekohe station for the financial year ended March 31 last and the previous financial year was submitted. This showed an increase in every class of traffic except inward cattle. The total revenue for tho past financial year was £41,334 19s Id, an increase of' £8489 14s 6d on the previous year's figures. The chamber accorded its support to the Sport 3 League's advocacy of daylight saving for New Zealand. The (suitability of the Franklin district as a location for the proposed agricultural college in the North Island having been the subject of a letter to the Minister from tho- chamber, it was resolved to ask the Auckland chamber's support.
