LORD BYNG OF VIMY.
CANADIANS PAY TRIBUTE. ANNIVERSARY PRESENTATIONS. (Received 5.5 p.m.) Renter. OTTAWA. April 9. Two hundred officers of the Canadian forces who served in the Great War under General Lord Byng of Vimv, GovernorGeneral of Canada, gave tangible expression to their affection for their former leader and Lady Byng, at a dinner at Government House this evening. They presented a scven-seater 75 horsepower Canadian-made limousine car to Lord Byng and an oil portrait of His Excellency to Lady Byng. The presentations were made on behalf of the officers "by Sir Arthur Currie, president of the McGill University, Montreal, who succeeded Lord Byng as commander of the Canadian corps. The dinner was one of the most memorable events of the kind ever held at Government House. It took place on the ninth anniversary of the capture of Vimy Ridge by the Canadians.
