AGRICULTURE PROGRESS

NEW SOUTH WALES RETURNS. INCREASE IN PRODUCTION. A. and N.Z. SYDNEY. April 9. The official statistics dealing with the agricultural operations and the live stock of New South Wales for the year ended June 30 last show that 4,914,485 acres were under crop. In practically every instance the production exceeded tho average yield of the past five years. Sheep and lambs numbered 42,925,117, cattle totalled 2,876,254, and horses numbered 647,503. Sheep increased by 5,386,000. Horses and cattle both show a slight decrease.
