CHILDREN AT THE ZOO.

PARTY FROM NGARUAWAHIA. ENJOYABLE DAY SPENT. A party of about 300 school children from Ngaruawahia and Taupiri came to Auckland by train yesterday and spent an instructive day at the Zoological Park. The children reached Auckland by train at IL2O a.m. Special carriages were attached to the train before it left Frankton and the majority of the children were picked up at Ngaruawahia, though abont a score of others were added at Taupiri. The children were in charge of their teachers, and proceeded to the Zoo by special tramway cars. The children spent the greater part of the day inspecting the animals. They left for their homes by train at four o'clock. Officers of the tramway department assisted in arranging for the entertainment of the party during the day. A smaller party of about 50 children from Te Kauwhata will visit the Zoo today.
