MARKETING SUBVENTION. SCHEME OF ADMINISTRATION. COMMISSION TO BE SET UP. By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyrighu. (Received 5.5 p.m.) Reuter. LONDON. March 31. The Secretary of State for the Dominions, Mr. L. C. M. S. Amery, in reply to questions in the House of Commons, announced the decision of the Government in regard to the recommendations of the Imperial Economic Committee on the subject of the proposed grant in furtherance of Empire marketing. Mr. Amery said it was intended to set aside £500,000 in the financial year 1926 to 1927, and to provide a full £1,000,000 in the year 1927-23. A special vote would bo submitted to Parliament for the administration of the grant. This would be entrusted to the Secretary of State for the Dominions, who would bo assisted by a commission. The latter would consist of representatives of the Dominions Office, the Treasury, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Scottish Health Department and members to be nominated by the Secretary of State in consultation with the chairman of the Economic Committee. Tho commission would be directed to include home and agricultural produce within the scope of tho grant. An additional member of the Economic Committee would be appointed to represent the interests of homo agriculture. A Labour member asked for an assurance (hat the importation of Empiro produce, which is produced by unfair labour conditions, would be discouraged,.
