Why is E tho most important letter in the alphabet?— Because it comes in front of everybody and everything. What never plays?—A hut band. What is trio differenco between a sailor and a broken watch ?—One goes to sea,and the other ceasoß to go. Why are your eyes like saucepans ? —Because they each have a lid. Which flower would be tho best for furnising a drawing-room ?—Why, rose would (wood). Which are the most useful letters for a man of business?—N.ll.G. (energy). Why did the gravel walk ?—Because it heard the top running. What nation always wins in the end ? •—Determination. When is an orange like a door bell ? When it is peeled (pealed). When is a clock on tho stairs dangerous ?—When it runs down and strikes one. What is that which is often brought to tho table and cut, but which is never fiiten? —A pack ol curds.
