SOUTHERN HAWKE'S BAY.
NO CHANGE IN GOVERNMENT. f l!V TEI.EGItAPH.- —OWN COKKESJ'OXPENT. ] DAXXEVriJKK, Friday. The little Rugby flirtation that bar, been going on between the Rush Football Union and the Dannevirke subUnion relative to an amalgamation of both bodies and the formation of a new union to be known as the Ruahine Rugby Union, has come, to an end, and things will remain as they are. The I'ahiatua Union, on the casting vote of the chairman, decided in favour of amalgamation, hut the Dannevitke sub-Union unanimously rejected the proposal. considering the present an inopportune time. The decision removes any fear of Ffawke's Bay being deprived of the services of some of its leading players from Hie southern end of the province when called upon to defend the Ranfurlv Shield.
