Wednesday, An application for the issue of a maintenance order against Ellen Catherine Rainbow, aged 71, in respect of lies husband, William Rainbow, aged 05, camo before a magistrate to-day. Defendant denied that she was worth £2-100, and said sho had taken rooms and offered her husband a home. The latter, who was living with a granddaughter, refused to live with defendant. In reply to Mr. P. Jones, maintenance officer, defendant said alio would not pay maintenance. Sho would go to prison rather than pay. The case was adjourned for a week to allow Jones to apply for a charging order.
