The New Zealand Dairy Produce Control Board has accepted ah offer of the South Island Dairy Association to do the whole of the, board's work in three centres, namely, Dunedin, Bluff and Lyttolton. A sub-committee of the, board appointed to investigate the matter reported recommending acceptance of the offer as it showed a very considerable saving to the board compared with the estimated cost of establishing separate offices. | The work will include attending to all shipping, insurance, advances to factories, drafts, advances against store warrants, checking of all documents, keeping all records required by tho board, and all other work incidental to the abpve, together with submitting to the head office of the board in Wellington all returns as required as from August 1. ELECTION OF THE BOARD, NORFOLK SUPPLIERS' ATTITUDE. [P.Y TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] MO RUINS VILLE. Wednesday The, method of electing the Dairy Produce Control Board was discussed by a meeting of suppliers to the Norfolk Cooperative Dairy Company. Mr. S. A. Ferguson, chairman, outlined the various methods suggested, and stated that under the present system a largo proportion of the votes cast wero by members of companies engaged in the local trade only. Theso dairymen secured votes without contributing to tho levy exacted on exported produce. A motion was adopted that the delegates of the company to the conference at Wellington be empowered to support either of the following recommendations: —(1) That the members of the board bo elected on the single ward system by the t individual vote of the farmers; (2 that the hoard be elected by the directors of the dairy companies on the ward system, with some limitation in respect to the votes of the larger companies.
