FAR EASTERN HOSTILITIES.
SERIOUS STAGE REACHED. TRIPLE ADVANCE ON PEKING. HANGKOW ALSO THREATENED. By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright. Reuter. PEKING. March OS. The civil war in Northern China has now reached an important stage. The Mukden generals, Li Ching-lin and Chang Tsong-chang, who only loosely acknowledge the authority of Marshal Chang Tso-lin, have recaptured Tientsin from the Kuominchau (National Army). The victorious generals are now advancing along the railway toward Peking. Chang Tso-lin's cavalry is advancing toward Peking from the East. Marshal Wu Pei-fu has completely cleared the Honan Province of the Kuominchun forces. He also is advancing on the capital along the PekingHan gkow. Wu's rear is threatened owing to the recent red coup d'etat at Changsha. Reports from Hangkow state that troops from Changsha are moving against Hochow, on the Honan-Hupeh border. This is regarded ■ at the headquarters of Wu as a preliminary to a General Red expedition against Hangkow.
