WANGANUI NOTES.
STRONG TEAM FOR AUCKLAND. [BY TELEGRATH. OWN CORRESPONDENT.] WANGANUL, Monday. Everything points to Wanganui being strongly represented at the Auckland Racing Club's autumn meeting. W. Rayner's. team for Ellerslie will comprise half-a-dozen and include MoUey, Tho Thorn. Mask, Lysander, Deluge, and Anklet. This is the' strongest team Mr. George Currie has ever had to represent him in the North. , Motley is regarded as nicely handicapped m the Easter Handicap, in which she has 8.2. The bay daughter of Absurd haa shown she can go a mile very fast, and it will take a good one to boat her if she does her best on the day. It is understood that M McCarten is to havo the mount on .motley," ana with such an acconipiishwi noise man on her bii°Kherprosp(ict3 certainly bo very bright lhe J-horn lacKs ike brilliancy oi Motley. b , u t W 'U t>e putting in good work over tue last bit, and. anywhere near the leaders at bottom t>t the Btraigtit, will niaKO things very mvereeting. 'ihe Thorn will be ridden by U. has come on a lot during the last couple oi weiks, a few fast having made a big difference to him. in son of Absurd can be depended upon to make a bold showing in the Great Northern Champagne Stakes, and it will take a first-rater to bring about his defeat. Mask, who is a candidate for honours in the Great Northern St, Leger is ou all hands vo*ed a greatly improved horse, and all continuing to go well with him at Klleralie he will be equal to stretching Mandane and Oreuni, when the classic event comes to be decided. F Tilley will take a select team of three to Ellerslie, comprising Tukia. Mandane, and Limited. Limited has been pleasing his trainer by the way he has been galloping lately and there are many who look to the son of Absurd—Holyrqod to beat both Lysander and Joy King in the Champagne Stakes , , Mandane was produced at Bulls each day, and, although she did not run into a place, Bhe looked well enough for anything, and something much better may be expected from her soon. Some close followers of the game expressed tho opinion after seeing Mandane run at Bulls that Oreum will probably beat her. in the Great Northern Oaks and St. Leger, but the races the Panmure filly had this week will probably make a big difference to her. Prior to the Wanganui meeting Tukia was boating. Tamatete on tho tracks, and, although she did not run up to that form in tho Jackson Stakes, she may do better at Ellerslie. . . Reremoana is said to be in great fettle: in fact, much better than when he beat his iitable mate Lady Cavendish in the Jackson Stakes. Reremoana is such a great galloper over a mile that, good as Motley is. the son of Hallowmas might beat her. With theso two and The Thorn to represent this district Wanganui has an excellent chance of gathering in the stake-money on the big race. FEILDING MEETING. LIST OF ACCEPTANCES.
