BIRTHS AND DEATHS.

DECREASES IN YEAR 1925. A. and N.Z. MELBOURNE, March 28. The vital statistics for Victoria for the year 1925 show that the death rate in the State in that year was the lowest on record, being 9.47 per 1000 of the population, against 10.05 per 1000 in the previous year. The birth rate was also lower than in 1924, being 21.49 per 1000 against 22.01 per 1000.
