TRAIN FARE NOT PAID.
TWO YOUTHS IN COURT. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] HAMILTON. Saturday. Two youths, Herbert Nicholas Howell, aged 18, and Richard, Maher, aged 17, who stated that they had run out of money and tried to obtain a free ride from Wellington to Auckland, were found in. the. recess at the back of the guard's van of the north-bound limited express when it arrived at Frank ton *;■ early this morning. They appeared at the Police Court later in the morning on charges of vagrancy and attempting to evade the payment of their fares. They said they left Christchurch early in the week to seek work in Auckland. The magistrate, Mr. Wyvern Wilson, adjourned the case till,, Monday to enable inquiries to be made in Christchurch.
