THE MANUKAU BAR.

boisterous conditions. STEAMER RARAWA DELAYED. The weather was somewhat boisterous yesterday on the West Coast where a fresh south-westerly wind was blowing. There was a considerable sea and the Manukau Bar was too rough for vessels crossing outward. The Earawa, Ohinemuri and Rinra crossed inward early in the morning but in the evening the Earawa was unable to cross outward for New Plymouth. She left Onehunga at a quarter to four and reached the heads at about 5 o'clock. Owing to the rough state of the bar she went to an anchorage. The wind moderated later and it was expected that the Rarawa would be able to resume her journey at midnight, when the tide was high.
