THE PLUNKET SOCIETY.
APPEAL IN FORTNIGHT. - An appeal for annual subscriptions and donations' in support- of the splendid work being done by the Auckland branch of the Plunket Society in helping mothers and saving babies, will be made on Friday, March 26, which will be observed as Plunket Day. It is hopeS that a substantial amount will be realised and that a number of permanent subscribers will be enlisted. An appeal will. also be made in July for funds for the maintenance and extension of the infant welfare centres in Palestine. These were established in .1022 by the Auckland Women's Zionist Society: from funds secured at the-Eastern garden fair and with the assistance .of citizens of .all. denominations. Plunket . centrjes- in Palestine are now established on a firm basis and their activities are rapidly extending. In order to assure the maintenance extension of the Plunket system in Palestine. It is proposed to hold in July in the Town Hall a fair entitled "In a Persian Garden." This will be on a large l scale, and in the meantime preliminary functions are being held by the various committees. , '
