AMERICANS IN AUCKLAND. APPEARANCE AT DOMAIN. SCHDLZ'S DESIGNS ON RECORD. The two American athletes, J. V. Scholz and Lloyd Hahn, will make their farewell appearance at the Domain this afternoon after a most successf .il tour of the Dominion. The visitors have shown great form during their visit, and to-day should see both runners at their best. It is most unfortunate that a race between Rose and Hahn ha:; been denied Aucklanclers, but to-day's programme should be a fitting conclusion to the Americans' memorable visit. Scholz is very keen to break the record over 250 yds that has for many years stood to the credit of the late W. T. Macpberson, who ran the distance in 24 3-5s on the very ground on which to-day's event will be contested. In this race Scholz will meet opposition from six of our best sprinters, whose handicaps have been framed to make the American do his best. Scholz will also appear in a special 220 yds invitation handicap, and a splendid race should be witnessed. The middle-distance runner Lloyd Hahn is also in good form, and patrons at the Domain will have an opportunity of seeing him in several handicap events. Hahn will be opposed to the. best of our local men and some fine racing should be witnessed. With record entries to-day's programme should draw a large crowd to the Domain. The first event is timed to commence at 2.15 p.m. BLANDFORD PARK STADIUM. HORDER'S LAST APPEARANCE. Another fine programme of cycling ami running events will be presented at Blandford Park Stadium this evening when Harris Horder, the World's Cycling Derby winner, will be seen in handicap and scratch races. Judging by his prolific speed on Wednesday night, Horder is eager to avenge his- sensational defeats of last Saturday and with the. world's champion fully exerting himself there should bo some thrilling riding. The meeting between Horder and O'Shea in an international match race should prove an attraction in itself. Both have proved themselves exceptionally fine riders, but in a race that is confined to two competitors, the Continental style, new to the Dominion, is exploited. Here brains are called into account. against mere speed and the nice should be an object lesson to all New Zealand aspirants toward championship honours. There will be other well-known professional competitors, among them D. Nicholson, surprise winner of last Saturday's scratch race, J. Henderson, T. Burrell, A. Sutherland, A. White, H., Burnand, D, George and R. Johnstone. The amateur events are proving popular for excellent entries have been received and a professional 100 yds. race should yovido some good running. During the evening the Devonport United Band will play .appropriate music. ' Handicaps for thci various events arc as follow:
