KERBSIDE PETROL PUMPS.
PERMITS FOR OTAHUHU.
ANNUAL FEE OF TEN POUNDS.
In accordance with the report of a special committee the Otahuhu Borough Council decided last evening to approve of kerbside petrol pumps subject to restrictions. The committee recommended that permits should be granted only for kerb pumps when the tanks were placed underground on the garage property clear of the footpath. It was also suggested that no garage should erect more than two pumps and that no permit should be granted for pumps less than 200 yds. apart. It was proposed that the annual fee for each pump should be £lO and that firms erecting pumps should not display trade advertisements on the footpath.
The recommendations of the committee were adopted.
