MUSIC IN THE SCHOOLS.
Sir,—-Re the Auckland Choral Society's intention to give educational recitals 'of music to our schools, I may say that at a meeting on, the 2nd inst. the Auckland Society of Musicians decided to 'give a series of three lecture-recitals to the right classes of our secondary schools. ' These are to be givan this year as an experiment. Should the lecture-recitals prove successful, it is our intention" to extend their scope and include all schools. Our society was, not aware that the Auckland Choral Society was moving in this direction, when Oio plans were made., However, no. doubt, the work of both societies .will _ have, good results. X only wish, to point out that our plans wore made, before those, of the. Auckland Choral Society wore known.. . H. Bakry CONF.T. President, Auckland Boc. of Mus.
